MG MGB Technical - Pictures of Crossmember mods?
Gone throught the archives and it appears that modifying the gearbox cross member is the way to go to make changing the gearbox mounts not such an awkward job! Has anyone got any photos of the mods - none of the links in the archives seem to work Thanks |

Dave. I do not see an e-mail address. I went to the website I had book marked for Ollie Stephanson and it seems to have all of the old information removed with a new site under construction. Mayhap he will read this and repost the original photos and description. Or, you could post your photos to your website. Les |

The reasons and cure are set out on page 251 of "MGB Purchase & Restoration Guide" by Lindsay Porter. All done to make the "otherwise impossible to fit mounting rubber bolts..." easy to fit. I've seen others say it's not needed but to be sure I've modified my crossmember anyway. Richard |

Les - Thanks for the heads up, I had not noticed that my e-mail address was no longer there. A Stubley - my e-mail address is ddubois@sinclair.net Cheers - Dave |

Modify one side only - otherwise you have to support the x member while both nuts & washers are fitted - by doing one side you can "hook" the x member on the unmodified side. |
