MG MGB Technical - RB owners - where does this wire go?

I have tried to trace this green wire on a wiring diagram (no joy) to determine what it might have connected to. It could be something long gone on the car.

It's hot when the ignition is on and comes out of the small loom that goes to the alternator and water temp sending unit (see image).

I wondered if someone with a rubber bumper B (mine is 1977) might look and see where it goes on their car?

Many thanks! David

There was a green wire that extended over the valve cover and onto the heat induction spacer on the ZS175 North American spec MGBs.
Rick Ingram

I agree with Rick but take a look at www.advanceautowire.com.

David, If you check this site you should find a complete wiring diagram for your model. Print o0neor more off and keep for future ref.

Many thanks gentlemen! That's much easier to read than most diagrams!

That green wire *is* (or was if it has been removed) for the induction heater. Easier to read, but no better in determining where wires physically were.
Paul Hunt

Well, it turns out the short green wire was my temp sending unit. The longer wire I <had> going to the sending unit was, in fact, the wire to that non-existent heat induction.

Lesson learned here: take pictures (and don;t lose your notes) on everything no matter how simple.
David Steverson

The temp sender wire should be green/blue, not green.
