MG MGB Technical - REAL WOOD DASHBOARD
Hello folks. I have a 1980 MGB and wood like to have a burl wood dash. Does anyone know how about doing one. Does anyone interested in making one for me that has carpenter skills. |

ea azis, a wooden dash for one of my B' is also on my list, but there have only been a few i've seen, that were looking O.K. so i asked a boatyard, that is specialized on restoring wooden boats and motor yachts and they can do it, but the price can only be calculated, when this work is done, so it sounds rather expensive to me. Up to now i am still collecting pics of custom dashs made for planing this project. Ralph |

Customer "The shop down the road has dashboards £20 cheaper than you." Shopkeeper "Well buy it from them, then." Customer "They haven't got any in stock." Shopkeeper "When I haven't got any mine are £10 cheaper than his." Customer "OK, I wait until you haven't got any then." They aren't 'wood dashboards' but stick-on panels, and as such all the instrumemnts, switches etc. end up being recessed into the wood. You have to get the right kit for the several different types of dash over the years. Typically £150/$300 in the UK. |
