MG MGB Technical - REAR LEAF SPRINGS
I HAVE A 64/65 CB ROADSTER. I WISH TO GET THE REAR LEAF SPRINGS MADE TO ORDER. I FIND 2 DIFFERENT SPECS IN THE ARCHIVES. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE ADVICE ME AS TO THE MOST ADVISIBLE SPECIFICATIONS TO GIVE THE SHOP CLAUSAGER LEAVES INTERLEAVING WIDTH GAUGE LOAD RATE DEFLECTION FLAT LB/IN @ WORKING 5+ LOAD BOTTOM 1/2 2/3 3/4 1.75" 3@7/32 450LB 93 4.97" PLATE 3@3/16 INCHES TEGLERIZER 1.75" .218 400LB 99 4.04" INCHES -- MOSS HAS 6 LEAVES THANKS VIGNES |

The Clausager figures are correct for a May 63-on CB roadster according to information I have (Leyland Workshop Manual, not Clausager), the Teglerizer figures are for a pre-May 63 car. They both have five leaves plus a bottom plate. Early RB roadsters had 6 leaves plus a bottom plate i.e. the same as the GTs, changed back to 5 plus bottom plate in September 75. |
