MG MGB Technical - Red heater hoses?

Hi All:
I own a quite original '67 MGBGT and a spare engine that both have a couple of red rubber heater hoses attached with original style wire hose clamps. Does anyone know if heater hoses were red rubber from the factory?

I doubt it very much. But I could be wrong.... There are photos of early cars under the bonnet in "Original MGB" but all the hoses are black.

I've never seen anything other than black.

Hi:
I thought so, but never hurts to ask . . . must have been a local dealer repair.

.. but if they are silicon and you drive the car regularly, you would be well advised to keep them on the car and retain the black replacements for the next owner.

PS in 1962, my roadster's hoses were all black.
Roger Walker

Only black as far as I know. The only thing I would add is that if they are silicone hoses, change the hose wire clamps to rolled edge worm drive items.
