MG MGB Technical - Roller rocker adjustment

Some differences of opinion on the other forum. I have 1:5 ratio roller rockers with an APT VP12 cam. Is the procedure for adjusting the valves any different in terms of method and clearance? Thanks, Mike

If it's the "other forum" I think you mean then I'm not surprised! ;) I don't have enough experience with your setup to give an opinion, but have you called APT Fast? Since they sell the cam and rollers, they should know exactly hows to set them up.

I'll soon have a set in one of my Bs so I guess I should be brushing up on this stuff anyway.

They do look good.

The method, in terms of which one you adjust relative to which one is depressed, will be the same. Rule of 9 if I remember correctly.

As to the clearance, as Steve says check with the manufacturer. Changing the push rods to carbon or tubular will effect this so when you ask tell them if you have made that type of change.

Mike, I believe Denis from Australia responded to your question on the other forum. Over the years I have learned Denis has lots of MG experience and gives excellent advice. That said, it is a good idea to talk to the seller of your rockers. You are talking about around .0008" difference or .001" rounded off. The difference is so small it probably doesn't affect anything either way.

The forum I read the thread on was The MGB Experience.

LOL, did not mean to create a mystery, I was hoping to find someone who may have the same or similar set up. I set the valves to 0.015, but it seems a bit noisier than I expected. BTW, both of these forums are fantastic. I do feel that this site offers more technical advice, no offense guys.... And, I was hoping to get some input from Les B., I do not think he posts on the MG Experience forum.
