MG MGB Technical - SuperFlex Dealer in US?
Pulling the engine in a few weeks and want to upgrade the front crossmember with SuperFlex mounting pads. Do we have a SuperFlex dealer on the US side of the pond? Joe

Not any more. The place in Arizona closed shop. I heard rumors about other dealers but they are Super Pro dealers. Whenever I call, they say, "Oh sure, these are the same thing". They aren't the same thing. You can buy them directly from Superflex or from Mech Spec on eBay.

Thanks for the info Steve. I've used SuperFlex bushings on all my suspension work to date, but there is now some serious shipping problem that prevents packages from arriving from SuperFlex. Chris Witor has been working hard to ship the front crossmember pads for 6 months now and they just never arrive. We've reached the point where I've got to move on and get something to replace the pads when I pull the front end. I'll have to go with whatever is #2 on the list of acceptable materials. Thanks again, Joe

Joe, I've been lucky with shipments from UK(not SuperFlex, just in general)...I've seen the bushings for sale on ebay but they will still be shipped from UK. They seem more expensive than what I remember from SuperFlex directly. regards, -J

-J, I've had great success with Chris Betson of Octarine Motors with parts arriving within a week of shipping from Leigh-On-Sea, but for some reason SuperFlex gets clogged in the pipe somehow. Perhaps Canadian Customs thinks it's some kind of weird muscle building drug? Take enough SuperFlex and you too can become a Professional Wrestler? As much as I really like the SuperFlex, I now have to figure out what is second best - anyone got a good suggestion? Joe

I just got a shipment from them a couple weeks ago, no problem. I'm about to order another.

SuperPro and SuperFlex are the same, they're made by Superpro in Australia. The logos are the same, except for spelling, and so is the wording on much of their website and literature. I think you'll also find the part numbers are the same. For example, the upper trunnion bushing kit for MGBs is SPF-282/K, the inner lower A-Arm kit is SPF-012/K. If anyone wants to have a look at SuperFlex' website they will tell you the same thing http://www.superflex.co.uk/superflex_story.html I can still supply SuperPro bushings but because of the supplier change they will cost much more than previously. I would imagine that there are other vendors in the US that supply them as well. It's too bad things went south in this case because I used to be able to sell 'B lower A-arm bushes for about $28 a set, now I think it will be around $40. Looks like it will still be less than ordering SuperFlex from England, though. Depends on what you want the packing to say ...

You can also get SuperPro bushing from the B Hive. http://www.thebhive.com/index.html Clifton

Superpro Website is www.superpro.com.au

Wow! For once a product for the B which is easier to get and cheaper in NZ than the US!!

I have installed Superpro throughout my car with no problems. Fit was good and the suspension has tightened nicely with none of the squeaks I was warned that I might get with some poly bushes. Terry

Thanks for the comments guys! I've used only SuperFlex on the portions of the suspension that I've reworked. Fitting is simple & exact and I've enjoyed the results of every upgrade. Unfortunately, there is now some flaw in the shipping trail that has put a stop to receiving this great product. Good to hear that Superpro is identical so I don't have to drop standards down to a #2 choice after the positive results provided by SuperFlex. Many thanks all - Joe
