MG MGB Technical - Underseal removal
I am sure it will have been asked before, but what methods do people use to remove underseal, the horrible black bitumin stuff not stone chip. At present I am using a hot air gun and scraper, then petrol soaked rags! Anything better?? Colin |

That was my method Colin! |

I used a hot air gun, followed by paraffin. |

Inside Colin or underneath the car - ??? |

Undeneath! Clue is in the name! |
Colin Parkinson |
Cheers - yeah, just trying to help mate-- what I was getting at was sometimes it's called different names like underseal or proofcote and it's inside on the floor panels as well IF it had been the inside of the car you were working on, it can be removed using dry ice willy |

Cheers Willy thanks for your suggestion. Colin |

For those of us driving a Roadster with the top off in the UK climate maybe underseal on the inside isn't such a bad idea! My 'back to basics' carpetless and largely trimless car gets an interior re-caulk of paint most years. Probably should use something like POR15 rather than any paint that's on a deal in the high street..... |
