MG MGB Technical - Will this RB part fit a CB car.

Does anyone know if a RB front chassis leg HZA 4967 will fit a CB car. I know the front where the bumper bolts on will be different but will the rest, engine mount, cross member bolting holes and where it goes under the floor be the same? I intend to use it as a repair section for the rusty chassis leg I have and can either modify the front end or splice in the current front section I have as it's in good shape. I have a chance to pick a pair cheap but will it fit?

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Several places most importantly BMH who make them distinguish between CB and RB. Engine mounts changed for RB, the crossmember itself did of course but I don't know about where it mounts to the chassis. I can't imagine under the floor being different. The problem would be if the front crossmember points *were* different, you could get into all sorts of problems with steering and suspension.

I don't know for sure, but I would think that the only difference is the engine mounting.

Where it goes under the floor should be the same, and I believe the crossmember mounts should be the same.

The crossmembers themselves are different, but interchangeable, I believe.

As suggested by Dave and Paul the engine mounting bracket is different but the rest is the same. I am running chrome spec legs in a rubber bumper shell.

The ends are different where the front bumper mounts

Steve is correct, but it is not a difficult job to modify the end to chrome spec, just copy the old one.
