MG MGB Technical - wishbone inner pivot
As I was preparing to get my suspension parts grit blasted I noticed some erosion of the pivots. Is this terminal and in need of replacement?

No Clean them up thoroughly and use blue poly bushes with their own internal steel bushes to overcome the roughness Jim |

I was concerned that there may be some play between bush and pivot. Or does the Bush get tightened between the inner end of the pivot and the washer under the nut? The car passed its MOT last year with no problems and its rubber bushes had steel inners. |

I've just been up to the MGOC office in Swavesey. Jonathon the technical guy there said they were ok. Just install the bushes with plenty of coppereeze. That's good enough for me. |

You could also use the V8 bushings, which have a steel insert inside the rubber. When tightened down, the steel insert will be locked in place by the pivot arm washer. RAY |
