MG MGF Technical - A couple of questions here....

Tried searching the archives to save everyone's time, but ended up wasting mind as i got lost in the vast collection of threads... :/

So here goes (sorry if this thread is a dose of dejavu!!!)

1. Do i need a TF bumper to mount TF lights on an 96 F, or is it just a case of needing brackets?

2. Through the use of a hub adaptor a la MS i can fit virtually any 4 stud wheels. Does any one speak Norwegian??? : )

Need some help in the translation...

Cheers!!!

1) Yes you need a TF bumper. The only person that I know of that used an F bumper was Gerry Hiorns, but that need major alterations.

2) I think the adaptor takes care of the PCD problem, but you still need to take the offset into account. Use Yahoo or something similar to translate. If you are still having problems I work beside a Norwegian girl, drop me an e-mail.

Ta very much David... scrap the idea of TF lights then andwill have a bash at this Norwegian website. It's got one of the best looking alloy designs i've seen in a while and will hopefully look smashing on me car!

If i get stuck, at least i know who to mail! : )

LOL, great community works ... again :)

JW's problem was finding out whether leading Norwegian wheel supplier Eiker Motorshop has a version of a particular model that would fit the MGF:
http://www.eiker.com/Default.asp?ItemID=1083
Unfortunately, they do not - due to the uncommon bolt pattern of the 'F.
The wheels in question are made in Germany, according to Eiker's website. ("Tysk" means "German" in Norwegian). Maybe you can help JW, Dieter?
Jon

I think it would be an interesting project to sift through the various wheel manufacturers and see whose wheels are adaptable to the MGF range. I really don't understand why the MG community has to be so restricted in terms of wheel choices when there's so much customisation available in other areas of these cars... : (

I contacted eiker by mail, but naturally no response. After all why bother with an MGF... *sniff*!

As for the community... proving once more what it means to bear the MG emblem! These cars may well be a headache, but just being a part of this community makes it all worthwhile... *sigh..* : )
