MG MGF Technical - A very blonde question
OK, sorry for sounding like the girl I am but... does the vin plate located under bonnet differenciate between between the VVC & standard 1.8i models or is it a standard plate fitted to all MGF's? Cheers in advance to those who I am sure will be in the know! Sally |

Sally, Yes it does. Check out - http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?hl=de&langpair=de%7Cen&u=http://www.mgfcar.de/vin/emgf_vin.htm&prev=/language_tools |

Or how about http://www.mgfcar.de/vin/emgf_vin.htm |

But it says 1.8 and VVC on the print (not the press) because the body is shared between the two types. |

How to distinguish an MPi from a VVC: http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/facts_and_figures/spotting_the_difference.htm If you read the characters off the VIN plate, it is the 8th character that you're interested in. It'll either be a G or a T. If a G, then the car is a 1.8i. If a T, then you are looking at a VVC. There's a little more on the information that the VIN contains on the MGF Register website registration FAQ - and this includes a link to Dieter's excellent site as well: http://www.mgcars.org.uk/carclub/mgfregister/fregister/register/Form_FAQ.htm Hope this helps |

A blonde goes into a garage and complains that her car is not running at all well. The mechanic takes it away and returns in about five minutes to say it is all fixed. Blonde asks “so what’s the story?” “Crap in the carb” says the mechanic. “oh” says the blonde “how often to you have to do that?" |

A blonde walks into a garage... (Ouch!) and complains that there is white stuff around the 710 filler. The mechanic thinks about this for a while and says "Ah, that would be an HGF". Blonde replies, "No, its and MGF". Ralph |
