MG MGF Technical - ABS pump going wrong (NFC well not a lot!)
Hey Guys. The mother in laws ancient H plate 216 ABS pump is making nasty sounds. Trident say that it needs replacing ...at £700... yeah right Is this the same system as the ABS on an F? I wouldnt know cos my F doesnt have ABS ( mistake!) Any suggestions? |

To complex a question for ya!? |

I'd say that the ABS on the elderly 216 is unlikely to be the same as the one on the MGF, if for no other reason other than the fact that the MGF/TF itself uses at least three different versions as the hardware/software has been progressively upgraded. Time to head to a scrap yard methinks. £700 replacement part for a car that is probably only worth that amount doesn't make all that much sense! |

You know what's going to happen to that car dont you? Mwahahahahaaaa |

It's got the 1.6 K-series? Then yes, caped wonder of Gothenburg, I can hazard a guess! ;o) I think that the 1.6 K already uses the fully-opening 48mm TB - but you could look out a pair of TF115/135 cams (or even a pair of VVC exhaust cams) - these will net you a healthy gain in power for modest outlay if the cams purchased from a scrapped car... Cue Darth Vader breathing: the force is strong with this one... |

Holy Doppelgangers, Rob Boy Wonder! some evil villain has switched the K series for a Honda generator engine!! It even spins the wrong way ...dont...look It's terrible! ABS pump in fact turns out to be a simple but costly job for Spannerman |
