MG MGF Technical - alarm !

Can anyone help me with my alarm problem? I had to remove the fuse from the alarm/central locking system and now everytime I lock the carwith the fob the alarm goes off. Anyone help me?????
tony

why did you have to remove the fuse?

I have recently bought the car and the previous owner didnt really maintain it very well. A lot of fuses, bulbs etc had gone so I was just going through them all. Foolishly I removed the alarm fuse before I realised what I had done.
tony

well am sure if you put in the correct size of fuse it should all return to normal and work fine.

I have replaced the fuse and the remote central locking and immobiliser are working but the alarm just goes off straight away!

Tony - I recently had to replace my dead battery. Upon reconnecting the new battery I had problems resetting the alarm. May be similar to yours.
Try as the owners manual states - press the handset LOCK button four times in quick succession, then press the UNLOCK button once. Best of luck

Thanks Tony, I haven't got an owners manual yet I have just ordered a new one. I will try your suggestion, thanks for your help.

I had similar problems after disconnecting the battery to work on the radio - same as you Tony, alarm kept going off every time I locked it. First thing I did was to disconnect the horns to pacify the neighbours - then a trip to Brown & Gammons who checked it over with Testbook (the MG Rover diagnostic program). If suggestions on here don't work you may have to find a local dealer or specialist with Testbook and get them to have a look (or contact a decent auto electrician). Once B&G cleared the alarm fault codes and re-synched the fob all was fine (touch wood... I think I may have shorted something when fiddling with the radio...)
