Andrew,

what is actually wrong with your old one? or are just wanting another one?

It is unlikly that you will be able to buy just the inside bit.

cheers,
Branko.

when i open it up the little button on the left unlock side looks like it is 1/2 way stuck in .
when i take it out of the caseing and push it it works fine but when i put it together you cant get a good push to unlock it .
so if i can get a replacement one i can get an auto elec to take the button from the new one or second hand and put it in the old as i am not sure if anybody in victoria can reprograme a new one if i can get one

The microswitch is failing? Usually these problems can be sorted by replacing the fob buttons (and even the casing if you like).

The fobs are identical to those used by Land Rover Freelanders of similar vintage, so may be a suitable source of supply
Rob Bell

i have done that already.
changed the casing did that about 3 years ago o is that what you call the switch a microswitch yes that is what looks like its stuck 1/2 way down or in .
i tried to pull it up but it is like a peace of rubber i didnt want to pull to hard do you think the freelanders were in australia too maybe i could get one of theres if parts are avalibel

Might even be possible to replace the microswitch on the PCB - but finding the correct one might be a bit of a pain, unless you're in the 'industry' and know where to look.

A Landrover dealership might be your best bet Andrew. They should also be able to reprogramme your MG's engine management system (MEMS) as the 1.8 litre 4-cylinder Freelander uses the same system.
Rob Bell

Andrew,

let USA-Ebay be your friend.

Search for "Rover Key Fob".

Lots to buy cheap and they will work after you get them programmed to your car. Ask the seller first, if they will ship to Australia, as some will not.

Been there, done that.

Cheers.
Branko

Branko

Branko who did the programing in victoria for you
