MG MGF Technical - Are Poly Bushes Worth Fitting?

Hi All,
Just got the car back after an unexpected stop on the M6 toll road where a spark plug fired out of the head stripping the threads! (Has this happened to anyone else?)
Anyway, wallet lightened (are helecoils made of muir?)i thought about some suspention work i could do at home,So I ordered some compliance washers from B+G and noticed that everyone sell's poly bushes of different manufacture.
So the question is, Are poly bushes worth fitting? and if so, which ones are best? ive noticed that some have stainless steel inserts and others have mild steel, is their other differences?
Thanks again
John.

I replaced with a set from Mike Satur when doing other suspension work awhile ago, no complaints.

Not sure I'd break everything down for the sake of bushes alone but def better than knackered rubber ones!

Cheers, Russ.

They do give a stiffer ride, buit for me it's a plus. BUT my wishbones cracked and snapped My bushes were fitted some 5 years and 80000km ago, but the extra stiffness seems to have been the cause of the failure. Our climate out hera has not inflicted any of the corrosion problems that happen in the UK.

Definitely worth fitting IMO

If you look in the archives you'll see that it's happened to a few people over the years. It has been put down to the plug not being tightened properly when fitted.

Also, I've been running Mike Satur's poly bushes on my car now for about 6 years without any problems.

Hi again,
while the rear wheels were off and the car jacked up, I was surprised to see an 1/8 gap infront and behind the tie bar bush! Will the compliance washers be any use now,or are the bushes shot and need replacing? Are they easy to replace?
