MG MGF Technical - Bike Rack Solution

After trawling the archives to find a solution for transporting my mountain bike, there wasnt a real clear cut solution.

However I've managed to find a rack that suits the MGF perfectly. It's manufactured by a company called Desmo.

Asda stock them and sell them for £24.99. It attaches onto the boot perfectly and safely in a couple of minutes. Large pads on the bars protect the paintwork. I attached the top straps to the boot vents although there are other possibilities and the others underneath onto the exhaust brackets.

A cheap and reliable solution.

Is it the Part Number: 99061012 @ £34.99 ? but £10 cheaper in ASDA?

Saw an F last week with a bike rack but couldn't get to the driver to discuss it with him.

Yes that's the one. The one I got from Asda had more padding as well.

this is the MG Boot Rack and if you already have one it might be worth contacting this firm for the Cycle carrier that attaches to it. Fits 2 bikes.

The rack that Bob posted about is a stand alone unit.

the item that used to be in the MGR catalogue was an addition to the full boot rack.

Apart from my formative first 24 months in Lincolnshire I've been Hertfordshire, never Hampshire. That seemed to change all by itself a while ago - maybe one of the defaults?
