MG MGF Technical - Boxer roll hoop

Has anyone fitted a Mike Satur Boxer roll hoop, if so any comments. Also does anyone have any photos of one fitted, I appreciate that there are various pics on his site, but their all fairly close ups, I'd like to see some long shots

Current pics of my car are on Jerry's site.

You'll have to cut 'n' paste ...

He uploaded some new Boxer pics. Rather nice I´d say. Like the new shape over the old (more curved) although IMO this shape of boxer needs to be 1/2 leather padded like the Porsche one, then it would be a winner. Leather (look) makes it more exclusive not like those coat hangers as seen on TT´s or Z3.

David, the 'new' hoop design uses the same hoop ,so shape and profile is the same ,I have only changed the mesh and glass details, BTW the 'old' design will still be available and both designs can be specified with or without leather pads. Its called the Mikeogram programme;-)
Nic, BTW they look good from any distance;-)

mike,

On an MK II or TF, do the hoops go through the rear speaker boxes?

Per, the speaker boxes are removed and replaced with new speaker brackets supplied in the kit, these are attached to the mounting beam which fits in the same place as the speaker box would.HTH.

Hi Mike,

Seems you´re rather good in "market research", which is nice.
I thought that this type http://www.mikesatur.co.uk/images/boxer5.jpg

looks a little straighter than this type

http://www.mikesatur.co.uk/images/boxermk2chromeside.jpg

Maybe its the padding that hides the curves?

cheers,
David.

David the first picture could be some of the prototype hoops we produced to test the design, if you look closly at the picture the glass does not appear to be fixed to the hoop lugs :-0
The tooling we laid down to produce the hoops was specially designed to give a vertical radius and this will remain the design on all the hoops we produce for the moment , unless I get an idea....

Mike, do I understand you to say that speakers (Trophy) are just repositioned? I really fancied having them body colour (yellow) now I've seen the chrome ones and can't decide!!

Mike Satur fitted a Boxer roll hoop to my F last week. I can recommed having it fitted by him.
It is not a difficult job but what may take you all day took him less than 2 hours ( and he was running the show on his own that day).
You also have the satisfaction of knowing the job is done correctly and safely for £40.....
Kevin White

Kevin, at £40 that sound pretty good.

Fitted the older version a few weeks ago - piece of easy - just take care - follow the instructions which are clear and easy to follow.

Resukt - a great enhancement. I could not get 45 mm hole cutter not available here so used 44mm no problem.

Go for it

Good comparison between Mikes Boxer (fitted to his TF 160) and his FX Windstop (now defunct, fitted to Scarlet). It is a distance shot too.

Thanks for the pics, it looks good on the car. I spoke to my insurers (Churchill), whilst they did not say no, they were really unhelpful. The best they would agree to after much 'discussion' was that I could fit it myself but would have to have a garage to verify that it was fitted OK. They kept referring to the suggestion that it 'could fall off the car'!!! I pointed out that far worse could result from (technically incompetant) people maintaining their cars and that there were no restrictions placed upon who can service the car. I'm too far away from Mike Satur to have him fit it and the thought of taking it to my local MG Rover dealer and asking them to fit it is of course laughable.
