MG MGF Technical - Brake discs replacement
I am looking at replaceing discs alround with OE or equivalent. I have just been quoted by my local MG dealer £130.00 for a set of rears, and £63.00 for the front. Seems on the high side and I would expect the fronts to be the more expensive. Any alternative suppliers would be appreciated. thanks |

Try Brown and Gammons Simon. I don't know for sure, but you could also ask Mike Satur or the MGF Centre. I also seem to recall some excellent prices for OE discs from some internet suppliers - but I can't remember the URL (not very helpful that, sorry) - but have a look through this site's archive (Technical and General), you should be able to find them (unless someone can remember them?) |

Just saw Pete's post on the other thread: www.spareshq.com - no listing for standard rear brakes, but the fronts are about 30 quid. HTH |

Ever hear of standard disks from a manufacture called "chase automotive". Their URL http://www.chaseauto.co.uk/ leads to a site for Saxbury Engineering Ltd. Saxbury Engineering were formed in 2001 acquiring the rights to distribute the Chase brand name products. But has anybody used them or had any dealings? |

Received the said items today, excellant service, the rear set are EBC standard, the front brembo. Would recommend using spares HQ. Total cost £77.00 including £6.00 delivery! |

Simon, great price any chance you know of somewhere that does discounted shocks? Thanks, Andrew. |

Andrew, The cheapest shocks I have seen are Rover Trophy shocks from B&G at £25 each (will fit a standard car - very slight increase in rebound damping)- not sure if you wanted these or better after market shocks though. Jason H |
