Hi all, just wanted to know how much I should expect to pay for a cam belt change. Thanks |

A servicing receipt from a garage in Bucks from 31/12/02 shows a cambelt at £179.04 Suggested replacement at ~60k miles. Matt. |

Hi folks, do you think that a MGF/Rover dealer could competently change a cam belt for a lotus elise considering they have the same engine. Thanks |

I don't know if the dealers charge a standard time for that specific operation, but if not, I would rather go to a place where they are used to do it on a F (understand : they do it quickly) This involves unscrewing a RH engine mount and "dropping" the subframe. The cambelt plastic cover is not easily removable due to lack of space, at least when you do it for the first time... Fabrice |

I recently got a quote for the cam belt change from a Rover garage (actually for the 5 year service, but they gave me the price for the individual items rather than the service as a whole). Cam belt change was around £360 IIRC. Service was a small one, which made me suspect they'd forgotten the fuel filter. |

Edinburgh Sportscars changed the cambelt only on my F for £120 (inc vat) last year. |
