MG MGF Technical - Car Still Handles Bad
Hi guys, Me VVC still handles really bad and I have just about checked everything. It used to feel solid on the roads and in bends, now it feels wobbly, like when your driving in heavy winds, that kind of feeling. Have any of you had this problem or know what it could be?? Regards, MG |

Mike, can you list what you've checked? At this stage, assuming that every thing has been checked, you have two options: 1. Get your car checked by another F owner - are you able to get along to one of the MGF meets? (Time for another Luton meeting perhaps guys?) 2. Bite the bullet and take your car along to the suspension experts, for which I'd strongly recommend Techspeed (telephone numbers on http://www.tech-speed.co.uk) - and consider uprating the suspension and dampers at the same time. |

I would seriously recommend getting a front splitter (either the KH fabrications one from Brown & Gammons, or a Trophy style splitter). This is cheaper than the suspension option, and will really help stabilise the car at speed. Cheers Paul |

Paul, The car used to handle, now it doesn't. Installing a splitter shouldn't be used as an atempt to fix faulty suspension components. |

Silly question Mike but have the tyres and tyre pressures been checked properly. Tyre pressures can really affect the cars handling if to high or to low, maybe the gauge is faulty? Just an idea. Where abouts in hampshire are you? Tom |

Yeah check your tyres if they arent low in pressure they may be a bit deformed. I would start there! I use Toyo proxes which are awesome. Totally grippy but I overinflate them by a 4 pounds which really seems to help with wear and more importantly with handling. |
