MG MGF Technical - Chrome side repeaters?
Not sure if this is just the feeling of boredom at work, but has anyone fitted chrome repeaters on their F? : ) http://www.body-kit.co.uk/acatalog/mgf_side_repeaters.html |

Hmm - now they're interesting - didn't even know that they were available! :o) Mark L has some very good LED side repeaters - but they're not the same as these... No, obviously no experience with these JW - any indication (no pun intended!) as to whether they fit in the same way as the original side repeaters? Also I wonder if these are available cheaper from 'classic' Mini specialists? |

When i first saw them, i too thought Mini... But they are sooooo shiny and will blend well with the other chrome trims i have planned for my F... The temptation is growing.... : ) |

They look like they come with Chrome bulbs, if so change them to clear/yellow or go for another type of repeater. The Shiney bits shop I got my Lexus lights threw a set of chrome bulbs in for the indicators. the trouble is the chrome paint on the bulbs makes them so dim as to make them invisable when they are on!. |

I'm with you JW. One of my existing side repeaters are currently hanging out on its wire, as the retaining clip has clearly failed... but I am not sure how these would look on a BRG car? On the positive side (before the Chav comments kick in ;o) ) is that they are quite similar in style to the side repeaters used on the ZT? Hmm... Anywhere else do them? |

Rob, check out item no13, page 15, MOSS catalogue. Bit of Chrome, bit of LED, and not to "chav" for you :o) |

Ah ha - here they are on line Mark: http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/MossUK/Browse.aspx?SubSubCategoryID=MGF_UMGF232 Hmm- Moss have changed their URL - time to up date my website!!! |

http://www.eliseparts.com/ have chrome bulbs which fit the clear F/TF side repeaters (click on "Lighting" and scroll down to Side Diadem Bulbs). I have them on my TF and they look great! Not at all too dim. I find that normal orange bulbs don't look good in clear or chrome repeaters, because there is always a faint orange shade apparent, spoiling the intended clear/chrome effect. Per => with silver indicator bulbs front, rear and sides - perfect on an x-power grey car ;-) |

I've got them but not fitted yet. the ones in the first link are the same as mine, they come with yellow bulbs that fit under a little chrome jacket, which is why they look so smooth :) |

Nice one Edd! Once you've fitted them let us know so we can check the pics out (i assume on your website)! |

Yup, keep checking over the next couple of weeks. As I have the chrome bulbs to fit my front indicators and rear clusters aswell to get rid of the 'fried egg' look. So will include them aswell :) www.btinternet.com/~edd_t999 |

Nice one Edd. Do these replacement chrome repeaters fit in the same way as the originals? |
Rob Bell |
The ones i got look exactly the same, when i get home i'll send the web address of the company i bought them from. they did advertise they were the exact same fit. |
Edd |
Rob. The ones I got just have a self adhesive pad on the back you remove the old repeater back as well. My new one comes with a clever connector on the end of the wiring which just plugs into the existing bulb holder!. Dead easy!!, even for me :o) . |
