MG MGF Technical - Clock Adjustment
Hi. I recently turned off the battery on the F and now I can't correct time anymore. Pressing the button I can adjust to wherever I want the minute "pointer" but never the short (hour) one. It can't be moved! However clock functions perfectly. Hours and minutes. I know this is kind'a silly trouble to have but what is probably the fault? I know I must remove the clock... But does anybody have an idea on this? What is best way to remove the clock? Do I have to remove the fascia? Probably yes... Thanks, Valter. |

I had a similar problem Valter, ended up replacing the clock. Have you tried really pressing the button in hard (so it hurts your finger), and then turning it. It worked for me. I only replaced it as it was under warranty. |

You could take off the battery until it is at the right time again, cause the clock itself works. Might be a bit of a hassle tho. To remove the clock you have to remove the fascia, as you already thought. Johan |

Thanks, I'll see what I can do to solve it... |

Remove the fuse for the clock circuit instead of disconnecting the battery. Mike |

Valter, Have a look at.... http://www.apttony.co.uk/Servicing/VDO_clock.html It's a commom problem - mine stopped allowing me to set the 'hour' again, so I have now had to get hold of a 2nd hand one. MG Rover price is about GBP 70 and the 2nd hand one I got for GBP 14, though I yet to fit it. Tony |

I've tried several times, pressing very, very hard and finally I did it! It's now working again and showing The GMT hour! Thanks. Valter. |
