MG MGF Technical - coilovers!!?

are there any coilover kits available for the mgf?
Nick Lewis

I really hope not!
The structure (at least at the rear) canīt take much extra load. See previous threads and pictures about damaged shock mounts. / Carl.

>>are there any coilover kits available for the mgf?<<

I doubt it since the MGF doesn't have springs :-)
David Clelland

Coil overs are available for the MG TF Nick - not for the MGF as the guys have said. Alternative damper kits are available however, and can be purchased from Brown and Gammons, MGF Centre, Mike Satur and Techspeed. A very worth while investment, but do be careful if you end up fitting adjustable dampers: if used at maximum stiffness, you can destroy the upper rear damper mounts ...

Cheers for that Rob i think its time to repace the tired old spax items are there any specific makes to look out for? theres some avo's on ebay at the moment!
Nick

If you're after adjustables Nick, then either Spax or Avos are good bets. You could also opt for Konis (not checked, but they may list the MGF).

If FleaBay has got Avos going cheap, then go for it :o)
Rob Bell

KONIīs for the "F" : 8041 1218 SPORT for the front.
8041 1219 SPORT for the rear. A bit expensive ,but very good quality. IMO any replacement will be a hughe improvement over the original oneīs ;O))
