MG MGF Technical - cross-section drawings

Does anyone know where I could find cross-section engineering drawings of the K series engine, preferably downloadable? Purely out of interest and curiosity!

M,

Havn't come across a cross-section drawing, but this is an excellent site devoted to the K series engine;

Try the Powertrain Ltd catalogue (their website was still live when last I checked a week or so ago)

Unfortunately, these diagrams are not comprehensive, and the measurements near impossible to see :o(

There must be more comprehensive schematics somewhere - whether they've escaped the confines of Powertrain Ltd is another question...

I ran across someone asking for the same on a newsgroup earlier in the year. He said he had asked Powertrain and was told all that sort of stuff had been transfered to Shanghai Automotive. Whether he was being fobbed off or not I don't knows.

SAIC? I'd have thought that most of the technical drawings will have been shipped to Nanjing, but in essence I am sure that you're right David - much of the K-series technical information will now be in the hands of the Chinese.

However, another avenue I was investigating earlier in the year was Gaydon. They are currently in the process of archiving much of the original work on the K-series, so this could be another avenue for you to explore...

Rob you may well be right, I remember he said he was told it had gone to a place I can't recall in China so I assumed SAIC. Whats Nanjing.

Good question, though somewhat rhetorical.

Nanjing Automotive Corporation is the Chinese that won the auction for the remains of MG Rover Group as sold by the administrators, Pricewaterhouse Coopers. They paid £53 million for the whole lot - and absolute bargain given the value of the octagon badge IMO.

Have a look at the MGF Register website (http://www.mgfregister.org/) - the news section has many pages of news summary there regarding the sale of MG if you want to know more :o)
