Hi Guys, how do I stop this dash rattling that I keep hearing, so far I have just turned up the radio, but don't know how long I can keep this up for!!!!! Regards, Mike Gibson |

find out where it is coming from, and then put lots of felt between the bits. Will |

Will, I think that it's coming from the flap under the sterio, you know the sunglaces holder part. I don't suppose that you are local to Hampshire are you? Regards, MG |

i too have a dash rattle although its doesn't come from the stereo area. it is definately from behid or above the glove box. As i am a simpleton (mechanically speaking) i too have adopted the stereo volume approach oh well. |

As the temperatire gets colder (air temp, not oil temp), I notice a whole host of intermittent rattles appearing, mainly form the cenrte console and associated "bits". I too adopt the volume approach. I might however, as suggested, place a couple of felt pads where the plactic is rubbing together. Or I may invest in the imminent filter and exhaust upgrade I have been promising myself, I'm sure this would drown out a few noises! Rog. |

Where might one get self adhesive felt pads from chaps? |

DIY stores such as Homebase look for furniture protectors or draft stoppers. Ted |

Will check that out, thanks Ted. But isn't this the same stuff that degrades into a nasty powder after a couple of years or so? |

Not had that problem Rob. But on my bike where all the 'tupperware' rubs against itself I use self adhesive rubber strip that I got from a car DIY - think it was Halfords - about 1.25 inches wide and and 0.25 inches thick and after more than three years and exposed to the elements it is still doing its job. Woolworth sell packs of felt pads Put soft kitchen paper UNDER the ashtray holder - mine used to rattle |

Another great product is Teflon spray. I used it both on the dash of the Audi and the MG and it works fine to remedy the squeaks ! Everywhere where you suspect two materials to rub against eachother, you spray the teflon onto it; let it dry a little bit and clean the rest off. Available at any DIY (at least here in Belgium) |
