MG MGF Technical - did softtop get any attention on my service ?

I have just had my 5 year , 60,000 mile service on my R reg MGF ( the expensive CAM belt etc. service), and I have noticed externally that clip seems to have moved/appeared on my softtop.
The location of the clip is as follows,
standing at the rear of the car follow a line down vertically from the edge of the rear window on the left hand side to a position where the softtop fits into the bodywork. A metal clip now protrudes from the channel in the bodywork which is attached to the hood/softtop.
My question is, "does the service require the removal of the softtop to access the engine etc. therefore should i take it back to the garage and ask them to refit the hood correctly?

Thanks in advance.
Mike

P.S. Before my service the softtop was Ok, there wasn't any clips showing!

Rear "parcel shelf" is in fact the engine cover and in accessed by lifting the rear of the soft top, lifting the carpet shelf cover and removing loads of bolts.
Refit the problem clip yourself - lift, fit in groove, push down

Have a look inside the car around the parcel shelf, there are several clips that hold the soft top down, and it then pivots up to allow access to the engine - sounds as if they have got one of the clips caught under the frame. Undo the clips, lift hood, free clip and redo clips. Not worth taking it back unless any damage done.

Maybe take it back now and then they can't claim that you did it!

5 minute job if it's not damaged

may not be relevant but have you been out in the rain since the service? when the dealers played around (sorry, serviced) mine they didn’t align it properly when they put it back. i didn’t realise until some time later when the rain came in. ;-(

It does sound a little like one of the clips holding the rear of the hood down has been trapped under the hood when refitting. If this is the case then this is extremely shody work on part of the garage that carried out the work. =-s
