MG MGF Technical - Discs worn

Hello people,

Just a quicky ;-)

I know my discs have worn out because when I bought the car the RAC warned me, but I am not sure if it is the front or back ones.
The RAC did tell me but I have mislaid the info and cant remember. (I know I am a dumbass)
I can hear the rubbing on the and can feel it as I am coming to a stop (usually on a slight slope down).
Pretty sure its the front ones that need doing, and I want to order them today so I get them in time for the weekend, so any ideas?

I mean any ideas on if it is defo the front ones?

Oh and it pulls to the right when bringing the car to an imediate holt.
Wez

Wez, have a look on the discs themselves, if they look thin (compare to rear discs) then chances are yes!

If it pulls to the right then you might have other issues with the brakes... where were you going to get the brakes done, and what discs were you going for?

Wez, what's your email addy?

Steve.

Steve,

I was going to get the Discs and Pads ordered from that Spareshq.com as they were very cheap. Thats for the normal discs and greenstuff pads.

Was going to get them fitted at a local tyre and barke place, they said they would do them for £25, and they have already fitted my tyres for me.

E-mail addy is above, hear from you soon.

Another easy way to check may be to see if there is any lipping on the outermost surface of the discs.
just run your finger along it, if it is significant then they would be the discs to replace.
BTW, how much are they charging you in the UK for your discs and pads.
You know those greenstuff pads, are they the ones that need to be warmed up slightly before you get good grip? (or is it other ones that I am thinking of)

Keep an eye on it pulling to the right, if that doesn't disappear after the brake change, it could need a wheel alignment.

Cheers

Antony, greenstuffs don't usually need to be warmed up, its the race spec pads that normally need to be warmed up, I think Red or Yellow stuff pads would be an example of these.

Antony,

I am getting the front discs and pads fitted on Saturday so will test out the pulling afterwards.
If the wheels need alligning then Ill have to get that done too.

I paid under £60 for the discs and Greenstuff pads from www.spareshq.com, they delivered the next day too.
