MG MGF Technical - DIY - Recall D169 (only the first step but usefull)

Hi,

This morning I just go for the recall D169 on my F (the one for the seat belt pretenser).

And 2 minutes later, it was done... ??? Indeed the first step of the recall is to check is the car has already been modified...

And to check that you have to open the bonnet. When in from of the car look a the left side just next to the light bulb. There is a cable with a sticker warp around.

On the sticker if the date is after 21/08/2001 then you don't have the problem.
Else if on the sticker you can see a green ou pink trace of peint then the car has already been modified and you don't have to go fewer...

It could be usefull for those you want to check their car, but remember to go to the garage in order to fill the last page of the car book.

Thanks Maxime :o)

Anyone any more details on how the cable runs are actually altered?

Have I missed something, has there been a recall recently. Judging from the sticker date it should be all cars upto this date.

The recall has taken place last year in england (november-december). In France we are a little bit late ;)

Tom, see recall #3 on http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/MGF_recalls.htm

Not including 'our' cars, but it is prudent to check in any case IMO.

Cheers Rob,

I remember this recall now, nothing to worry about.
