MG MGF Technical - Dry Sump!!
Any one have a dry sump kit fitted to their F? im considering buying one, just wanted to know if it was worth it really! |

only if you dont want to carry baggage - if it is the same as was fitted to the 'cup cars' the oil reservoir takes up most of boot. |

Tis indeed the mgf cup version |

Then surely it should already have the dry sump plus the extra air intake. see http://www.mgfcar.de/event/mgf_treffen_2k/dk__3474.jpg Ted |

no i meant the dry sump kit was taken from an mgf cup car! Looking at the pic my missus has just told me i cant have one :-( |

OK Nick - I understand now:-) If you are only going to use the car for track days and such then it would be good BUT if you intend to use it as an everyday car or for going away, as many of us do, then you might have room for your toothbrush! Ted |

Nick, if you re-designed the oil tank to fit somewhere in the engine compartment(where??)and assuming you weren't going to fit the TB's that intrude into the boot space.. and you were considering track days as Ted says it would be good .. if not then you will reduce the boot space and your marital relations;-) There are other less expensive options though for the track day enthusiast. A sump baffle and a windage tray is probably the best place to start: no intrusions into boot space or relationships with the better half! ;o) |
