MG MGF Technical - Eagle F1 Prices
Thinking of replacing my darn right dangerous NCT3's with Eagle F1's. After some phoning round the best prices I have got is 45GBP for 195/50/R15's and 67gbp for 205/50/R15's (including fitting & balance) is this a good price? |

Sounds pretty reasonable to me, especially as this includes fitting and balancing. From what I can gather Micheldever seem to be pretty good for F1's at the moment - might be worth a call. http://www.micheldever.co.uk/ Jim |

Micheldever will do all four with fitting etc... for anout £260 These are the F1 GS02's not the really new ones still a great tyre. Tip, if you plan to go to Micheldever on a Saturday get there for 12.00 latest and expect a Q. Tim |

The prices you have seem very competitive, where are you getting them from...? |

These prices are for the new style F1's! Getting them from B T Tyres in Rugby. Only a small place but seems to be able to get hold of virtually any brand at a good price. Was quoted 70gbp 195's and 77gbp for 205 Bridstone SO-3 PP's.(inc fitting) |

i have ntc 3s are they really that bad ? i need to replace them soon any recomendations |

Driving normally in the dry they are not too bad, but if you push them you will soon discover how little grip they really have. In the wet it is very easy to oversteer. I pulled out of a junction in the wet, span and ended up facing the junction I had just pulled out off! This and various other 'tankslappers'convinced me to upgrade my tyres. Just had Goodyear Eagle F1's fitted all round, new style on the front (195/50/R15) but had to fit old style on the rear (205/50/R15)because of a problem with the supply of the new style 205's. Cost 225gbp inc fitting and balance. Going to pay Techspeed a visit soon to check tracking. |

All, according to goodyear DO NOT FIT NEW TYPE OF F1 TO A MG F, use old pattern F1 only |

Why not? |

The new ones seem to work fine on mine! |

Why Not? Probably because they (Goodyear) see it as a good way of getting rid of old stock! Ted - ever cynical. |

From what I gather (from previous conversations on the BBS), Goodyear and MG haven't extensively testing them yet... that's the only reason I can think of. But I've had them for over a week now, on the rear, and no problems. Chris |

goodyear told me " could cause handling concerns" and would continue to make old types in mg f sizes. steve |

Try the retail arm of Micheldever, ProTyre in Gloucester or Bristol. They had the earlier Eagle F1s in stock earlier this year at very low prices. Also recently awarded No.1 UK tyre retailer by the tyre trade magazine. |
