MG MGF Technical - ECU
The electrical connection schedule does not correspond to the ECU, the cables have the wrong colours. It's also missing some pins in the plugs for the schedule to be correct. See my home page http://hem.passagen.se/larsragnar/ (Electrical K-) The ECU is from the 3rd of June 2006, so the table on the CD is probably too old. Does anyone have a newer schedule? Or is the solution to the problem that I put more pins in the plugs and connect according to the schedule I have? |

Ingemar, on another document you have VIN 4D728957 on the ECU sticker. http://hem.passagen.se/larsragnar/mk49.JPG This should be used from August 2004 until July 2005. http://hem.passagen.se/larsragnar/ks1.JPG is the vakuum air volume for the ANC valve. (Automatic Noise Control) A vacuum controlled open/close valve at the exaust. *Most useless stuff ever made*. You do not need it. http://hem.passagen.se/larsragnar/ks2.JPG I have no sense about this, unfortunately. |

Hi Ingemar, Good to see that the project continues apace. The wiring loom you've got is a very recent one - with the updated fuse boxes, imobiliser system and a whole host of other changes that I can only speculate upon! Unfortunately, the wiring diagrams for cars this recent are not in the public domain - or at least not that I am aware of. Anyone got a copy of the latest wiring diagrams? IIRC, this engine/ ECU came from a ZR160 didn't it? |

Hi Rob MG ZR 160 1,8 VVC Year 2003 |

Hmm - 2003. I would have expected it to have the Lucas 5AS immobiliser - and a different fuse box? But then again, I am not that familiar with the apparence of ZR fuseboxes!!! MY2004 TFs had a similar one to this - hence my thinking that this is a much more recent wiring loom... The sensor shown in http://hem.passagen.se/larsragnar/ks2.JPG has me foxed too. Any clues as to where it was originally mounted in the ZR? |

Hi Rob! I was supposed to be present when they dismounted the electric system, but they dismounted it so quickly that it was already in a box when I got it, so I've never seen it mounted on the car, therefor I can not answer where the sensor was originally mounted on the ZR. Sorry about that :-( Regards/ Ingemar |

Difficult to tell from the colours on the photograph, but what are the colours of the wires to this sensor? It might be possible to work out what it is from studying the wiring diagrams... |
