MG MGF Technical - Electric polisher

Has anyone tried those rotary polisher thingys? Are they any good? Do they scratch or leave swirly marks?
Richard P

You are sure to get the full range of views from A to B about these Richard.

I've got one; I've used it; I've had no problems; I will use it again; the polisher cannot scratch - only grit trapped in the mop by careless operation; i've not had swirly mark problems; I bought mine from Halfords and chose the full size mains powered version not the smaller car powered version.

Halfords have the larger electric ones on offer at the moment. I bought one for about £29. Very pleased with it. No swirly marks due to the random rotation beacuse it is set up to spin off centre. Works very well with a high quality polish. I use Autoglym super resin polish & then the extra gloss protection on top. Looks first class.

Cheers guys. That's me sold.

So how do you use it?
Put the polish on with it, and buff by hand? Or does it have a buffer pad as well?
Richard P

Richard

I'm a bit messy so I tend to put on by hand and spread it around a bit. Then polish electrically. Then clean mop and polish off electrically.

Initially, I poured polish on panel, switched on polisher and applied to pool of polish. I then used an Electrolux washing machine to clean shirt and trousers. I do also spill soup down my shirt so I may not be the perfect example!

LOL!
