MG MGF Technical - Electronic boot release
I understand that Moss International - a supplier of British (often classic) car parts - sell an electronic boot release for the MGF. However, they're not sure whether it could be fitted to the TF because the wiring of the TF might be incompatible. Would anyone know if this is the case - or can tell me who would or should know? And if Moss don't fit the part (they don't seem to), where might be the best place to have it fitted. Local dealer? Sad I know but I must admit to not knowing my live from my neutral

The previous owner had one fitted to my VVC at Brown & Gammons who presumably supplied the part. They should be able to tell you if it can be fitted to a TF.

There should not be any problem: the TF wiring loom is almost (is?) identical to the MY2000 MGF.

Previous postings suggest the B+G kit is slightly better in terms of instructions than the Moss kit IIRC. Gaz

Having fitted this to my F, I can say that it is a pain to fit. But is worth it! so much so that I will be ordering a new kit for my TF. If you can wait a few weeks I will be able to send some photos and extra notes. Before you ask I would have removed the old kit, but it was such a pain to fit I deceided that buying another was a better bet. Paul WA02 POJ

Thanks for your responses. Do you have contact details for Brown & Gammons

Use the ads on the top of the page and tell B&G you head it here first! Will

have just ordered the B&G set (2nd time now). But looks like there is a problem with their web site as the Buy button kept giving page not found errors. But if you copy the part code and go to the quick checkout section it works there. Paul WA02 POJ
