MG MGF Technical - Exhaust system

Use the opportunity to get yourself a nice growly sports exhuast. Favourites are the Pheonix system available from Tech-speed in Leamington, and the MGF Centre in Wolverhampton, or the Daytona system from Mike Satur. Both go for about £350 inc VAT As Bob says, the MGF Centre in Wolverhampton will be your best bet for a nearly new cat that won't break the bank. Ask for Victoria - she'll be able to arrange delivery. Do it this way, and expect a significant saving on the £900 MGR have quoted you. HTH, Jim |

David, I don't have everything here at work with me but I had a service + exhaust + cat + a few bits and bobs .... just went out to car and info is there ... MGF 12,000 service £111 MGF Std Cat £150 MGF Std Exhaust £75 Silencer fitting kit ? £15 Fit Exhaust & Cat £38 (1 hour) Total £389 + VAT so £900 for exhaust/cat only sounds extortionate. Mine was done by Brown & Gammons last September. There must be an exhaust company in Wilts that can do it? or how far are you from TechSpeed? Might Marcos in Westbury be able to recommend somebody? |

You can get the X-Power 4-2-1 manifold (includes flexy section), sports cat and sports silencer (all made by Janspeed in stainless steel) from your MG dealer for about £1100! |

Steve, your suggestion looks positively inviting compared with my offering! Seriously, I had seen a number of mentions of the X-Power system and had no idea of the price. Is it for MGF as well as TF? |

I'm not 100% sure on the price for the exhaust on its own. X-power advertise the upgrade kit for £1190.64 + Vat (£1399), this is an exhaust system & an induction kit. So allowing £250-300 for the induction kit, I reckon the exhaust system should come out @ approx £1100. It is advertised as a TF system, so the individual bits should be a straight swap for TF or post 2000 MGF bits. (its available as a complete system and individual components) I can't see why it wouldn't fit on a pre 2000 F either, if you replaced the whole system :D |

X-power are doing the Janspeed 4-2-1 manifold now? Wow! I presume that this is the same manifold that Mike sells? Probably about 500 quid on its own then... |

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa do the MOT early, see if it fails on exhaust which it will if it's blowing at all. If so then go on ebay for a new cat saw one very cheap the other day. get bypass tube and leery stainless pipe and the problem will never happen again |

<<get bypass tube>> and fail MOT every year onwards <<and leery stainless pipe >. and beware the new police 'anti social behaviour' powers <<and the problem will never happen again>> |

You could try Bell Silencers in Swindon. They do the Milltek system and cat. Got mine from there. Highly recommended - speak to Darren or Roy. |
