MG MGF Technical - F exhaust layout
Can anyone provide a technical print out for the exhaust system on a 99 MGF 1.8? I'm looking at buying one at the moment but I'm concerned at a slight blow that you can hear when the revs rise. I'm used to a standard layout such as manifold, downpipe, front silencer, rear silencer on most cars but getting a proper look at an MGF system is a little more difficult. If I can get hold of a diagram or such I can figure out which part needs replacing, and hence work my price around it. Thanks in advance. |

Figure for a new lambda sensor if you have to get a header. Pipework is thus: four to one header, mates to engine and downpipe on the front of the engine Downpipe - two to one, includes flexi section, mates to header on front of the engine and catalyst behind ehaust pipe. Catalyst, with extra lamda sensor on exit (?? not so sure, my 97 doesn't have this) Exhaust pipe, takes input from LHS (looking from back of car) and has exit pipes poking out thru bumper. |

You may also find this web site useful which includes part numbers for the separate items for the exhaust system http://www.lame-delegation.de/mgfcar.de/epc/5972.htm Keith |

.. was lack of VIN's. Now perfect. Oh yes, it's even less easier than thought. MGF 1999 should be no problem though. |
