MG MGF Technical - F1 GSD2 or GSD3
I don't know whether it really makes much difference, but does anyone know if there is 205/50/15 version of the Goodyear F1 GSD3 or is this still supplied with the GSD2 pattern? (And does it really make much difference?) I was shocked yesterday to find that my S03s need replacing after only 9k miles (the previous 2 sets of S02s lasted 13k each) so I thought I might try the Goodyears instead. (Last week it was the ceramics in the Cat that disintegrated - what next?) Peter. |

Yikes! That is very rapid wear Peter! 8oO No idea whether GS-D3s are available in 205/50R15 - is there any info on their home page? Might be worth contacting Micheldever to see whether they can supply this size. An educated guess would be that they DO do this size - the 'D2 is now obsolete. |

Don't know by heart but I think you can get that dimensions on the D3s. The problem is the 195/50. But check this on a tyre dealer. Cheers, Valter. |

Rob, I did look at the web site and it said that the GSD3 range was actually supplied as GSD2 in some cases -including 205/50/15. Perhaps I should believe it and wonder whether even garages know exactly what they are expecting to get in this situation. Any first-hand experience around? Peter. |

I have 195/50/15 GS3 on the fronts ... Gaz |

Thanks. That is consistent with the website (http://www.goodyear.co.uk/services/tyreguide/feat_eagle_f1_gsd3.html) which says that 195/50/15 is GSD3 while 185/55/15 & 205/50/15 are still GSD2. Shame! |

Gaz, probably I mixed the dimensions... :-) I knew there was a problem somewhere... |

Good Afternoon All I currently am running 195/50/15 front and 215/45/15 rear GY F1's very good. I have just received my new rims Konig Appeal Opal dead gorgeous IMO. www.konigwheels.com got in contact with a local dealer who spoke to factory and got them to produce the set with the mgf dimensions. My only question is they are 17's and i need new tyres i have heard some talk about the Toyo Proxes are they any good on an F. any help appreciated Luis Sorry for straying away from main topic |

Hello *stranger* over there :) I'm going for the Toyo 16' setup on wednesday. They should be not so good as i.e. the Bridgestone in the wet, but are said to be not bad in the dry. I think the wet driving conditons are really anyway 4you (find me jeleous !!!) Much cheaper then other the famous brands. |

Evening Dieter I am stuck between the Toyos or Bridgestone. Don't really need a rain tyre as we only get rain about 15 to 20 days a year hard rain that is :) Cheers Luis |

Get the Toyo and spend the saved money for some other bits of 'the dark side'. Though if you can efford then go for the Bridgestone. Must be hard live with 20 rain days ;) Still jeleous. *sneef* :( |
