MG MGF Technical - Fan/Alternator belt replacement
Hi Guys, Fan/alternator belt gone. Is it a fairly straight forward job to replace? Sunday morning kind of job.. or is it looking like a booking in the local garage. Its a 2000 MGF Mk2. Any help or advice greatly appreciated please. Thanks Matt. |

Matt changing the belt is just a bit short on space the only thing to watch for is the 6mm bolt at the back which tightens up the belt adjuster you cannot see it from the side view . Roger |

Agree with Roger. You need to remove the drivers side wheel and access cover, and would suggest you familiarise your self with the adjustment bolt on the alternator by sliding underneath and taking a look. Making sure of coure that the car is propoerly supported. |

This might help as well...

Image may be a little misleading as it shows a car with Air con that has a long bolt with a idler / tensioner. |

Sorry bolt should read belt. |

These are the non-aircon pics.
