MG MGF Technical - Fan Fuses (radiator)
The fuse for my raditor fan keeps blowing leading to overheating and chucking out my coolant. I heard that it is possible to replace the fuse with a higher rating, and this is a good fix. ROB, do you know of this fix? Is it safe? Thanks BBS!!!! |

Rob's a busy man, but I'm sure he'd confirm that fitting a higher ampage fuse is safer for your wallet than repeated overheating - gaskets on any engine will only cope with that a few times before giving up. |

Thanks Mike. I do agree, but its always worth checking if this has a knock on effect, or perhaps if there is a better fix. Thanks Kindly |

It's recommended as a matter of course on Dieters site, that's usually good enough for me... |

Changing from a 15 to a 20amp seems fairly standard and was in fact what later cars were fitted with. I would check why they keep blowing though - is the fan starting to seize and may pack up completely soon? |

The fan seems fine. So I will go ahead and change. Is there a spare in the fuse box itself? I cant check due to not being near the car until tomorrow. |
