MG MGF Technical - Faulty Power Steering

On monday I started my 2001 MGF 1.8i & found that the power steering light stayed on & the power steering no longer worked.
After taking it to my local MGF specialist they have advised me that the the diagnostic report has said 'Carry out T4 diagnostics on PAS system recorded fault:Internal ECU relay failure requires further investigation.
They have advised me that they do not know what it is but it will take 3 - 4 hours labour to get to the ECU to do further tests, therefore can't tell me what's wrong or how much to fix.
Has anyone ever had this problem?
Gary

hi it may just be dust in the epas block which is located under the passenger side glove compartment
try taking it out and give the contacts a clean ..might work .. darren

I would like to personally thank you, Darren for your help. I located the ECU behind the glove box in approx 3 mins as you said and had a look. After playing with the connections my power steering now works perfectly.
What a saving!!!!!
I have a good mind to contact my MG dealer (Brown & Gammons) to query why they reakon it takes 3 to 4 hours to locate the power steering ECU.
