MG MGF Technical - fitting CD changer in front boot

I have a CD changer and I want to fit it in front boot. I don't know how to fix it. Have you any suggestions? I thought to buy the MG transport box (a plastic box to fit in front boot to make usefull much unused space) but it's not available. So I think to modifie the cover pannel (plastic made panel that cover servo-brake and other near place) like needed to install transport boxes I spoke above.

Have you suggestions?

hi
cnerone

Did you try http://www.amt-mg.com/de/intro_mg_D.swf for the front box??
A bit expensive though, 185 euro plus packing and postage.

The front bonnet area is NOT waterproof so not the best place.

In the glove box or under the seat or in the rear boot are more suitable.

John P,
I thought to build a waterproof bug to fit CD-changer in.
Under seat there is not enought space to fit my 10-CD changer
cnerone

cnerone, I understand the problem with CD-Changer fitting so I bought a single CD player that plays MP3 disks. I can transfer 10-12 full CDs onto a single MP3 CD using my PC CD-Writer and the standard XP software accessories. This is even better than most Changers and I can still carry 15 CDs in the car giving me nearly 180 full CDs to choose from.

Not a choice for you as you have already got the CD-Changer but may be usefull for somebody else.

try having a look on http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/

goto the "In car entertainment" section and see the following sections:

Installation of CD autochanger in glove box

Installation of rear speakers into T-bar

Some recommended installations

Details of Rover BRM speaker grilles

you may find them usefull.

John,
I prefer CD because mp3 sounds not as good as CD
cnerone

cnerone,
I prefer CD sound to MP3 as well but there is not much space in an MG to fit the equipment (without taking valuable passenger and luggage space).

Once over 120kph with the top down you might as well sing to yourself as you really cannot hear the difference.

But we all make our own choices but share one car :-)
John Ponting

I agree what you say but if I think to winter I think my tf has hard top fit so I can hear the difference.
cnerone

1, if you fit the cd autocharger under the bonnet and don't completly waterproof it you WILL have a fire (i have actually seen it happen)
2, MGR recommend that you only keep the standard spare wheel and tool kit under the bonnet, as the front end of the car is a crumple zoom.
3. do yourself a favour and fit it in the boot.
colin

Cnerone, you must have amazing hearing to tell the difference between CD and MP3 in an F. At any speed over 50mph, with the hood down, even my singing sounds OK!

when top is down. When top is up? when hard top is fitted?
cnerone

when engine is running? when car is moving?
