MG MGF Technical - fitting rear speakers on TF115
I disassembled t-bar and I found this: (go to http://superdrive.supereva.it/cgi-bin/fm_main.cgi?share_dir=share+cnerone.freemail+1053979006-6543 and click on adsc0040.jpg) no black platic boxes like ones seen here: http://www.mgfcar.de/speaker_MY2000/index.htm how to fit speakers? have i to create boxes similar to these, or a panel to fix rear speakers? I know somebody fixed speakers directly in t-bar by some screw. I think this isn't a good idea: some time after t-bar will be damaged by speakers weight. So I thought to build a wood panel to fit behind t-bar. I don't want to fix speakers in the iron because doing it speakers are not aligned with speakers grills and because I hear is important to split air in front of speakers with air behind the speakers to obtain a good sound. Have you some suggests for me? |

Having trouble viewing your pix C, but i assume you are saying that you do not have the speaker box beneath your T-Bar? If so, then the TF 115 is the same spec as the Mk1 MGF (which also never had these speakers). There are two ways you can proceed. You can buy a speaker box, you could go to your nearest MG dealership, but i suspect that even with shipping costs it may be cheaper to go to Mike Satur (i know he has hundreds of them sitting in his store) or Victoria at the MGF Centre. Both places can be linked to from the adverts atthe top of these BBS pages. The other option is to cut holes on your T-Bar and mount the speakers directly into it. Some people (like Rob Bell) have already done this and although it isn't quite as neat as the MY2K way, it does the job and the speakers tend to be hidden behind the seats. Doing it this way also allows you to use different sized speakers as you form your own opening. Have a look at Rob's pages on this: >> http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/installing_rear_t.htm << Hope this helps. SF |

C, contact these people...... http://www.midlandmgf.co.uk/start.html they take crashed cars apart and sell the parts cheaper than MG. They will be able to supply the T Bar/ speaker box so all you need to do is replace the one in your car - easy! Ian |

>> they take crashed cars apart and sell the parts cheaper than MG << This is also what Victoria at the MGF Centre does. >> http://www.mgfcentre.com << So you can play one off against the other to get the best price! ;-) SF |

I have speaker grill but not speakers boxes. So I have not to replace my t-bar but I have to add speakers boxes. see 8th step photo in http://www.mgfcar.de/speaker_MY2000/index.htm I need to add they. My t-bar is equal to one shown in these pictures |
