MG MGF Technical - Front wheel bearing.
What is the commonality of the front wheel bearing on the F? The front nearside is making noises and I'm sure a non-franchised garage could do it for much less than a franchised one. John. |

JFK, Wheel bearing wear is fairly common, so I'm told. I gather that when the first MGF Cup Cars were tested, the wheel bearings lasted just a few laps and so the Cup cars had to be modified for racing. You're not a million miles away from TechSpeed Motorsport, (Eathorpe, near Leamington Spa) who will replace your bearing much cheaper than a franchise dealer - talk to Marvin or Roy on 01926 632066. The hub and bearing is stock Metro I believe... comes complete with drive splines, in case you ever decide to drop in another engine ;o) ;o) |

Oh, 4wd.... |

Rob, I couldn't remember if it was Metro or 200. I've thought about TechSpeed but, I'd probably spend far too much on their Bilstein monotube gas dampers, polyurethane bush kit etc, etc. Mmmmmm :o) |

Yep, standard Metro hubs, this is why the F has an unusual PCD size. More info can be found on the SOS site (i recently removed one from Scarlet). >> http://www.sfforever.co.uk/viewgallerypicture.asp?id=1-18-240-241-242-243-244-245-246-249-247-248-250-251-252-253-254-255-256-257&queryon=22 << SF |
