MG MGF Technical - Fuel filling

Hi all, Does anybody else have the same prob as me, While trying to fill my 98 with petrol MGF with fuel the lever keep clicking off ,could this be the breather blocked ?
M Huggett

Mine does that but I get round it by turning the filler nozzle upside down. I believe it's fairly common.

M - try different angles rather than straight up and down. You might also notice the nossle slides in a bit more at the optimum angle.
Leigh Reid

Doesn't it say in the handbook you should only put the nozzle in as far as the first notch (or I read it somewhere!)
M Cunningham 1

I have an MFTF and mine does the same, you have to turn the nozzle on an angle that way it goes further in and does not cut out.
G Ardley

fault with the mg i think
Darren Jeffery

Only some of them ;o)
C.R.B. Simeon

As stated above, don't put the nozzle in so far - just one notch or so. Don't worry, it still shuts off when the tank's full!

Cheers,
Tim
T Jenner

Same here, hang the nozzle on the first notch and sometimes about 20deg clockwise!
