MG MGF Technical - Fuse
The 15amp fuse for the stereo unit, internal lights, clock and boot light keeps blowing straight away. Any ideas on how to stop this? Thanks. |

Check the wiring loom in the boot at the Y-piece near the left hinge. There will be at least 1 broken wire and could be several. Get registered (quick, easy, free) and search archive, there will be so many hits that you will still be reading next week. Good luck. |

Also check behind the stereo unit for trapped wires between the back of the unit and the chassis. Remove the centre air vent and look down on top of the back of the stereo unit. Just rise the vent out. HTH Bruce |

Bruce, you shame me every time :-) I always forget the simple ideas, probably because I'm told I am a pessimist. Chris, hope you get it fixed soon. This happened to me on holiday in France and I soon ran out of suitable fuses before I gave up. |

Yep - check the radio is not trapping the loom against a metal cross-member. It happened to me last week and was fixed FOC during a routine service. Regards Bryan C |

John, Apologies, that was not the intention. I was merely adding to your list of things to check. regards Bruce |

Thanks for reply guys. Bruce how easy is it getting the air vent removed? I am going to try and fix this problem tonight as it is driving me mad!!!! |
Chris |
Chris, easy, grip the bottom(not the fins) of the vents (one hand per vent) and pull. Vent will 'pop' out. reverse the process to refit. I think that John may be more lightly to be correct though! |

How easy is it guys to remove the wiring loom in the boot to check wires? Thanks. |
