MG MGF Technical - Handbrake issue

Hi,

I'm trying to replace the plastic handbrake button with a chrome one I bought from B&G. When I asked how to do the job, they replied "Oh it simply screws in". What they didn't say was how to get the old one off? I've tried to unscrew it with pliers but it doesn't seem to want to come off. i'm holding off till I get some advice, knowing my luck I'll end up breaking the thing!

Cheers,

JK

JK,

The plastic button should unscrew.

If you don't mind it getting damaged, get a hold of it with a hefty pair of pliars and unscrew.

As a last resort, you could pull off the handbrake grip (probably just as stuck on as the button) and cut the plastic button off.

Good luck!

Mine did not unscrew. It should pull off with a heavy pair of pliers!

Julian,

You're dead right!

I remember now, I actually cracked the plastic button while I was twisting and pulling with the pliers.
