MG MGF Technical - handling gone

Can anyone please advise?

Since changing rear tyres last autumn the grip and handling went noticeably down hill, however in the last couple of weeks it has become dangerous to drive on motorways.

If I travel at 70mph the car regularly veers off line by almost half a meter which is quite terrifying, I am having to constantly correct wheel and now keep to inside and middle lane due to fear of clipping central reservation curb.

Also and perhaps connected, my car has had lowering knuckles fitted some years ago but I now seem to be sitting very low at the moment, and am scraping on every speed bump and dropped curb.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Timothy, what tyres have you fitted?

A collapsed wheel bearing can produce those symptoms, ten minutes with a jack will decide whether you have a wheel about to fall off...

Glad when we checked mine last night that mine weren't Mike!

Yep, and I'm sure you were glad that I'd replaced mine when you were hounding me through Copse at race speed ;o)

LOL - I didn't fancy a close encounter with a Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2 - especially when it's wearing 10kg of 11-spoke alloy... ;o)
