I asked for that. |

Sorry Shane :-) I really meant his catalogue might have a description as well as a piccie. Mike seems to have hit on the ultimate product: a replacement for something that I cannot find in the workshop manual. I suspect all would become clear when you tried to dismantle the heater hoses from the matrix. HEATER CONNECTORS The heater connector pipes on the MGF can be a source of coolant loss, the plastic connectors used as standard can crack and distort leading to problems. We have made some connectors in aluminium and anodised for corrosion protection , swap the standard items for these and eliminate any possible problems. We recommend using hose clamps when changing. The cost of the two connectors are £15.00 plus vat (£17.62) For 4 stainless steel hose clamps add £6.00 plus vat (£7.05) |

Shane, the connectors fit in the T off hoses to the heater pipes just to the left of the exhaust down pipe between the bulkhead and front of the engine above the subframe, they are held in place with 4 clips.Nice plug, thanks;-) Mike. |

Thanks.. mike I just fitted the new pipes you sent, I also fitted the new clips as well but now I have a leak at the rubber hoses where they connect to the new coolant pipe. How much tightening can these clips take? Or should I have sealed them with something? I'm also getting steam in the cabin when the car is running with heater fan on and the heat up full, what is going on here? Is this bad? I have bleed the system at the three points and checked the jiggle valve. Cheers, Shane. |

Shane, Steam in the cabin?? That doesn't sound good.Could be the heater matrix at worst or a clamp leaking.Clamp pressure shouldn't be any more than 10N/m. Slacken clamp and make sure it is seated correctly, the clamp has two sections to it so make sure it hasn't jammed .Sometimes the hoses become porous and weep from the laminations, wipe the joint clean to identify cause.HTH. Mike. PS check clamps after car has been up to temp/pressure. |

I had steam in the cabin when I bled my system for the first time. I had the wife filling reservoir whilst I bled at the bleed points. I left the resevoir over full and steam came out of the air vents, when I bled reservoir down to correct level the steam stopped. Could be the answer, could be coincidence, have you checked the reservoir level. |

Resevoir was too full. All working fine now... Back on the road again!!!! Cheers Shane |

..until this morning... I left the car in the garage over night, came out this morning and found a small pool of coolant on the floor, about the size of beer mat. So I still have this leak at the front of the car. I wouldn't mind so much it's just so hard to get at it to try and fix. I'm buying a 4x4 or something I can at least get my arm under!! |
