MG MGF Technical - High Level Brake Light

Hi Guys.

Does anyone know where i can get a bulb from for the High Level Brake light, i have tried halfords etc... but none of them seem to have them.

They are 12V 2.3W but quite thin

Newton Commercial do a bulb plus connector for £15.

I got mine from Halfords, and I don't seem to remember them costing anyhere near £15!

I Thought the HLBL was a LED type thing - at least mine is!

i dont know about newer ones but mines a 96 and if you take the HLBL off and unscrew the back it gives you access to the bulbs there are 7 small bulbs in it and one of mine has gone.

In order to take the back off there are 4 screws 2 on each end, and what looks like some sort of plug in the middle underneath this is a screw, i had to drill the plug away to reveal the screw as i think the plastic is melted over the top...

Maplin Electronics do a good range of bulbs...

For the price of a bulb, I'd recommend going to one near you - otherwise the postage will be > than the item!
