MG MGF Technical - Hood removal/adjustment
hi, does anyone know how to remove and fit a brand new mgf hood? Or a link to some instructions. Am i correct in thinking once fitted it needs adjusting? And what does this involve? Many thanks for any help guys, Do you think its something i just shouldnt attempt? |

mat do you mean hood with frame or without? If with frame - undo the 2 bolts that hold the unit to the car and lift it off - 10 minutes. You will probably need to pull the t-bar forward to give full access to the bolts. If without frame - the X-Power site has the full instructions for hood fabric replacement in the section for the hoods with glass screens. http://www.mg-xpower.com/mgshop/images/sportsterfitins3.gif |

I guess that Mat would soon have spotted that Geoff. BTW mine has 2 on each side. |

Rob, I need to remove my hood to replace it but I have a Mike Satur boxer windstop fitted. Can I still remove the T bar? Thanks. |

Gavin, yes you can - but you need to remove the hoops first. Unfortunately, I don't have first hand experience of this, but I am presuming that this is pretty straightforward, as the hoops were designed to be a DIY-fit. I am sure that I've seen DIY instructions on the web before, but I can't seem to find them right now, sorry... |
